To ensure your table is sized correctly to accommodate all of your guests, you need to consider the design of the table base and the size of the chairs.

A table with a central base enables you to fit more chairs around it, but the diners sitting level with the base may lose some leg room. On the other hand, a table with either two or four legs will reduce the amount of usable chair space slightly, but is great for maximising stability and leg room for all guests.

If space is restricted, a good solution can be to either choose a dining chair that’s not too wide, or consider a bench for one or both sides of the table – benches are generally an efficient way to seat more people. We’d recommend considering a bench even if space isn’t an issue, as we carefully custom-build these to be the perfect match for your Abacus table.
