Bill and Chris originally wanted a dining table with an oak X-frame legs and glass top. But after visiting us in Marlow Bill was blown away with our French Oak table tops and arranged for his wife Chris to visit and see for herself. They both agreed and went with an oak top made from 3 slabs from the same tree. I designed their table with square legs and centre-brace, but Bill suggested a rectangular section for both and, after first approving the design in 3D, it turned out beautifully. I think this version of the design could prove to be more popular than the more conventional original.

We built their matching entertainment cabinet with a top slab from the same oak tree as the table top, with 2 wide compartments with functional sliding doors and a shelf inside each (with 2 optional heights), one of the compartments slotted out at the back for cable management.
